GATC and AMP announce a program of online master classes for audiovisual professionals from Nigeria

Organized by the Global Audiovisual Training Center-GATC in collaboration with the Association of Movie Producers (AMP) Nigeria, the GATC-AMP Professional Development Program for Nigeria is a series of 5 online master classes (via Zoom) in English conducted by renowned industry professionals on the following topics: Sales Agents and International Representation, Special Effects, Script Supervisor, Assistant Director, and Production Designer.

The program will take place between April 3 and April 17, 2024, and registration is now open to Nigerian audiovisual industry professionals and recent film school graduates seeking to improve or update their expertise. Among the goals is to meet the needs for skilled crew to help ensure that Nigeria is prepared to receive international productions of film, series, and other audiovisual content.

The master classes are free of charge for AMP members. For all others, the cost is ₦ 15,000 (for all 5 master classes) and payment must be made directly to the Association of Movie Producers Union Bank account number: 0008136926. Only residents of Nigeria are eligible. Registration is open on a first-come, first-served basis up to March 27th, with a limit of 500 participants in each master class. A certificate of participation will be provided for attendance of a minimum of 4 master classes.

“This is the first milestone of GATC international operations in Africa, and the partnership between the GATC and AMP is an excellent model for film industries in other nations of the region seeking to attract international productions of films, series, and other audiovisual content,” says Steve Solot, GATC President.

“This new venture between AMP and GATC represents another example of the leadership of our association both to benefit our members and their needs for skilled crew for their productions, and also to help ensure that Nigeria is prepared to receive international productions of film, television and other audiovisual content,” declared Amb. Dr Queen Blessing Ebigieson, National President AMP.
